Discover Dugit

Since 1992 I have dedicated my whole working life to supporting and maintaining office and IT equipment

I’m Doug Sneddon and I’m the owner of Dugit Services.  I was born in Durban, South Africa.  After attending High School I completed my National Diploma at Technical College in Electro-Mechanics, Electronics, Maths, and Physics.  I then completed my 3-year electro-mechanical apprenticeship with Telkom SA (South Africa’s equivalent to BT).  Having completed my apprenticeship, this enabled me to go on and work with various office automation companies in South Africa, supporting different makes and models of devices.  This was all before moving to Livingston, Scotland in 2006 to be closer to family.

Since arriving in Scotland, a place I have just fallen in love with and now call “home”, I have continued with my successful career in supporting various Managed Print Service companies.

Following the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020 and seeing the varying challenges with employment that this brought, I took the brave decision to start up a new company.  I genuinely believe that I can offer a far superior service on a more personal level, as both a freelance technician with my own clients as well as working as an outsourced technical support for manufacturer and dealer MPS businesses.

My employment with various companies, including Alto Digital (main dealer) has provided me with substantial experience and knowledge whilst undertaking roles such as Technical Manager, Supervisor, and more latterly as a Specialist Technician at Kyocera, before taking the leap to start my own service support company Dugit Services.

My aim and focus are to deliver “great service, on time and to support and assist all clients to keep their office equipment as operational as possible”.

Regardless of what make of device you have, be it Kyocera, Konica, Ricoh, Canon, or any other make or model, you can be assured that I will provide you with the best service to the absolute best of my ability and at all times.

My work is fully supported and backed up by access to all parts and supplies as well as any technical support and assistance in the unfortunate event that I may need it for the more in-depth and problematic issues that can rarely occur.

Some of my proudest achievements to date were my accolades for great service whilst employed at Alto Digital and Kyocera UK including the following:

  • First place UK Kyocera engineer trophy competition 2008/2009
  • Third place at European engineer trophy competition 2008/2009
  • Second placed UK Kyocera engineer trophy competition 2009/2010
  • Top 10 finalist UK Kyocera engineer trophy competition 2010/2011
  • After Joining Kyocera in 2011 I was the internal Engineer of the year on many occasions and the years I wasn’t  I was placed 2nd or 3rd
The below is an excerpt from the awards ceremony in 2008 when I was extremely proud to represent my employer and be recognised for the great efforts and hard work I had given.  The full story can be read HERE.

“It’s great to award the winners of EMEA Service Trophy 2008, and in particular to recognise the skill and dedication of our partners,” said Norbert Wolter, Senior General Manager KYOCERA MITA European Service Centre. “Kyocera Mita sees service excellence as a continuous work in progress to ensure that we can exceed customer expectations in the present and anticipate future needs. To do this close collaboration between Kyocera and its partners is vital so we can offer a unified service strategy, and apply the same organisational structure and service processes across EMEA.”,are,
